Report: Dixie Carter Looking to Bring Velvet Sky Back to TNA

TNA may not have seen the last of Velvet Sky yet, this according to a new report from PWInsider.

They claim that shortly after Velvet received her release paperwork from the company, she received a call from TNA President Dixie Carter, querying her as to what it would take to bring her back to TNA.

Although as of writing, Velvet has not signed a new deal, PWInsider says that there were people within TNA that were allegedly quite upset upon learning Sky had been officially released, citing the recent music video she had just shot through the company for Montgomery Gentry (“So Called Life”) and the time TNA had put into developing her as a personality for the company as examples.

Velvet has already accepted a number of independent bookings since her TNA release, including a match for Family Wrestling Entertainment in Brooklyn, NY, where she’ll reunite with her Beautiful People tag team partner Angelina Love, to take on Maria Kanellis and Winter.

She wrote:

I’m very excited to announce that in less than 2 weeks I’ll be leaving for a 2 month tour of Japan with STARDOM, and to compete in the 5 STAR GP2012 tournament. I’ll miss you, Mexico!

A Beautiful People Reunion Planned

The Beautiful People, Angelina Love and Velvet Sky, will face Maria Kanellis and Winter at Family Wrestling Entertainment’s “Back 2 Brooklyn” show taking place October 6 at Saint Patricks Gym 9511 4 Avenue Brooklyn, New York 11209-7414. Did John Cena Cheat On His Wife With ‘Tara’ In WWE?

Source: The Wrestling Observer

Tara has responded to allegations that she was having an affair with John Cena in 2007. As previously reported, Kenn Doane accused Cena of being involved with a Diva, who he said was married at the time and referred to the Diva as Cena’s “road girlfriend.” Due to the details Doane revealed, everything pointed to Tara, who was working as Victoria in WWE at the time.

Doane said the Diva was transferred from RAW to SmackDown in 2007 like him after being dumped by Cena. Two Divas transferred from RAW to SmackDown in the 2007 WWE Draft—and the entire year—Torrie Wilson and Varon. Wilson was in the process of divorcing Billy Kidman. Varon has been married to a man not affiliated with the professional wrestling industry since 1998, matching Doane’s claim.

Varon addressed Doane’s allegation in an interview with the Observer. She says, “KD said a Diva married to someone not in the business who moved from RAW to Smackdown in 2007 was sleeping with John Cena. Considering I had nothing to do with why he was whining on the internet, he sure gave enough details about someone he claims he wasn’t trying to involve. I was the only Diva married to someone not in the business who moved from RAW to Smackdown in 2007.”

Here are some more highlights from the interview:

On backstage politics in wrestling: “Professionally, you hear people talk about ‘backstage politics’ in wrestling. I’ll tell you what that means to me. Backstage politics is not some kind of psychological maneuvering. You work and travel with your wrestling co-workers more than you want to work and travel with anyone. The people who complain about backstage politics generally don’t have the ability to respectfully interact with others. I treat everyone with respect. Everyone. Ask the caterers, building security, wrestlers, executives, crew, fans, anyone, who I don’t treat with respect and they would be at a loss for words. And because you spend so much time with these people, you know a lot about the people who you travel with and work closely with. I found that the best way to not make waves is to keep my eyes and ears open, and my mouth shut when it comes to other people’s business. The people who complain that they were the victim of backstage politics often either don’t show people respect, or bud into other people’s business.”

On Doane’s allegation: “On a personal level, what KD said was mostly false, although there was a little truth. I have been with my husband for 20 years. He’s the best guy in the world. But like any 20 year relationship, we have some good times and we have had some bad times. And anyone who I traveled with knows that. Because you learn intimate details about each other whether you want to or not. We have separated a few times. One of those times that we were separated, I dated John for about a month. It was not in 2006 or 2007. It was in 2002. It was when we were both in Louisville. I was married but separated. John was single. I was never his ‘road girlfriend’. I know that when we were separated, my husband also dated a couple girls. That’s what happens when you are separated. In 2002, it was common knowledge that John and I dated. It fed the rumor mills for people who have nothing better to do than gossip like old ladies. So for KD to use bits of information that he was only able to pick up because he was allowed in the inner circle of WWE, and smear me, when I only treated KD with respect, over an incident that he is upset about from 5 years ago, tells me that he didn’t learn anything about ‘backstage politics’ and how it relates to being a decent human being.”

On moving forward from the allegations: “Moving forward, I’m a glass-is-half-full kind of girl. Only my glass isn’t half full. My glass is 99% full. I am blessed. And I’m done discussing the 1%.”

Former TNA Knockout Retires from Wrestling

Former TNA Knockout Rosie Lottalove, aka Betsy Ruth, has announced her retirement from professional wrestling. In a short statement on Twitter, she wrote:

Been out of Twitter world 4ever. Had a lot going on. Medical probs have forced me to retire from wrestling :-( Thanks 4 all the support!

She also confirmed that she would be requiring surgery to remove her ovary.

Lottalove, who trained under Bully Ray and D-Von at the Team 3D Academy, was signed briefly by TNA in 2010.

Many will remember that Lottalove infamously took part in an ill-fated tryout match with Daffney, resulting in the veteran suffering a bruised sternum after Lottalove accidentally sat on top of her. Due to her various injuries suffered in TNA, Daffney has since filed a lawsuit against TNA. It was reported earlier this week that TNA paid medical bills exceeding $9,000 for the injuries sustained in the tryout match.

Brooke Hogan Signs With TNA

TNA Wrestling announced Thursday that Brooke Hogan, daughter of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, has joined the organization. Beginning with the May 31 episode of IMPACT WRESTLING on Spike TV, she will serve as the Executive in Charge of the Knockouts division. The following press release was issued:

New York, NY, May 17, 2012 – Television personality and recording artist Brooke Hogan is joining the cast of the highly-rated weekly wrestling program, TNA’s “IMPACT WRESTLING” starting Thursday, May 31 on Spike TV. Brooke’s role will be as the Executive in Charge of the female wrestling division, The Knockouts.

Brooke will join a star-studded cast of the biggest names in professional wrestling, including her father, wrestling legend Hulk Hogan. TNA’s flagship series, “IMPACT WRESLTING,” telecasts on Spike TV and is one of the network’s top-rated series on Thursday nights with young men and currently ranks among the top shows on cable in its timeslot with Men 18-34.

In addition to overseeing the traditional duties of the Knockouts Division, Brooke will bring a new energy and direction to the role working with the girls in a variety of capacities.

“I have really gotten to know Brooke by working with her on her music career this past year and a half,” said Dixie Carter, President of TNA Wrestling. “When we did talk wrestling, I not only loved her passion and knowledge of it, but the fresh, creative ideas she would come up with. She is very savvy. I asked if she would consider teaming up with me in this capacity while she also worked on her music, and I was thrilled when she said ‘yes.’ A big personality runs in her genes, obviously, and I know she is going to take an already exciting division of Impact Wrestling to another level.”

Brooke is heading to New York next week for a media tour to promote her addition to the IMPACT WRESTLING team. Brooke will also promote “IMPACT WRESTLING’s” move to 8 PM and that the series will telecast LIVE for the summer starting Thursday, May 31. TNA’s 10th anniversary SLAMMIVERSARY pay-per-view-event is set for June 10th in Dallas, Texas.

The TNA roster features many of the top names in wrestling including the aforementioned Hulk Hogan, Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, Bobby Roode, Sting, James Storm, Rob Van Dam, and the lovely and lethal Knockouts.

Brooke Hogan, a native of Tampa, Fl, is a successful television personality, singer and songwriter. Brooke starred in two acclaimed non-scripted shows on Spike’s sister network, VH1, including “Hogan Knows Best” and the spinoff, “Brooke Knows Best.” Both were #1 rated shows for the network. Brooke has also released two albums, “Undiscovered” in 2006 which peaked at #28 on the Billboard Hot 100, and “The Redemption” in 2009. Her song, “Everything To Me,” peaked at #1 twice on Billboard’s Top Single Chart. Hogan’s film credits include “Little Hercules in 3D,” “Sand Sharks,” and “Devour.”

#TNA – Traci Brooks removed from TNA roster on website

Traci Brooks has been removed from the roster of Knockouts on TNA’s website.
This usually happens for two reasons: contract expiration or storyline. As Brooks is not really involved in any major way in a storyline currently, that is probably not the reason for the removal.
There has not been any official comment from TNA on the matter yet.
Brooks was an original Knockout, but has left the company previously. She rejoined TNA last year.
No word yet on any future plans she might have.
